Healthy Cereals - Vital Start
Healthy cereals and muesli are not always easy to find. That's why we created Vital Start, a healthy cereal that was developed to provide as many nutrients as possible in one serve.
Vital Start Muesli is our premium healthy muesli. It was the first one we developed, and it remains our favorite.
It is a combination of 15 amazing ingredients
These amazing ingredients provide fibre (both soluble and insoluble), essential fatty acids - Omega 3, 6, and 9, and are high in vitamins and minerals.
Our healthy cereal has been specially formulated to improve health and wellbeing, and to provide real nutrition.
Most illnesses start as a result of the lack of basic essential nutrition - vitamins, minerals, water, essential fatty acids and amino acids.
An example of this is- when the mineral magnesium is deficient in the diet, it dramatically increases the susceptibility of cramping, and when there is prolonged deficiency, it can lead to arteriosclerosis, diabetes, heart disease, nervousness, diarrhoea and tooth decay.

Eating Energy Fields Vital Start Muesli for breakfast gives you a great head start for the day.
Unlike many other mueslies, we use premium quality Australian oat bran in our Vital Start. Oat bran is a healthy cereal in itself, it is high in fibre, which helps to keep you regular, keeps you feeling fuller for longer and can help control insulin levels in diabetics.
It also contains beta glucan which helps to lower cholesterol levels and is very important for heart health.
Using oat bran instead of rolled oats, also means that you have the health benefits of oats concentrated in our muesli because it takes 3 tonnes of oats to make 1 tonne of oat bran, and you don't have to chew and chew and chew!
Bran flakes give our healthy muesli a good crunch factor, and are a tasty high fibre addition to the high nutrient ingredients.
Sunflower seeds are an excellent source of protein, they have over 24% complete protein with a NPU (usable protein) of 58% and all the essential amino acids are in good balance.
Sunflower plants have the amazing ability to follow the sun's direction, and for this reason they are unique.
They supply us with Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin. Deficiency in Vitamin D can upset the metabolism of all the main minerals in the body, which effects the glands, muscles, nerves and digestion. Even in a sun drenched country like Australia, the incidence of Vitamin D deficiency is always increasing since we use sunscreens daily.
Sunflower seeds also provide an excellent amount of Vitamin E, Vitamin B1, B2 and B3, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, magnesium, and silica. Due to their high nutrient value, they are also in our other healthy cereals.
Buckwheat is high in protein, and contains all the amino acids. It also has an abundant supply of Vitamin P or Bioflavonoids, which is a water soluble vitamin with 5 components - rutin, flavones, flavonals, hesperidin and citrin. Apart from citrus fruits, there are very few good sources of bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are essential for effective Vitamin C absorption and utilisation.
Buckwheat is the best natural source of rutin, and rutin has remarkable healing abilities. It is essential for artery and vein health, and is often used in cases of hardened arteries, varicose veins, poor blood circulation and arteriosclerosis.
Buckwheat also contains the minerals calcium and phosphorus.
Calcium helps to build strong bones, teeth and muscles, promotes a healthy nervous system and also has a calming effect on the nervous sytem.
It also helps with proper functioning of the heart, plays a role in maintaining normal blood pressure and regulating blood clotting.
Calcium can also help with controlling food cravings, decreasing mood swings and the pain, tenderness and bloating associated with premenstrual symptoms.
Lecithin granules contain essential fatty acids and choline and innositol. When you eat lecithin, your body will help you by producing natural lecithin. Lecithin is part of the structure of every living cell of the body, especially the brain and liver, as well as the endocrine gland tissues and the heart and kidney muscles.
Lecithin granules protect your body from environmental toxins, help to break down fats, and protects the body from excess accumulations of fats within the arteries. It converts fats and cholesterol into small particles so they can pass through the arterial walls and be used by all parts of the body.
Lecithin comprises 28% of brain matter. In times of stress, it is used up rapidly. if it is not replaced in the diet, fatigue, iritation and other forms of mental confusion may develop.
Lecithin has been called "nature's tranquilliser".

The Linseed we use in our healthy cereal is sourced from quality Australian growers.
Linseed is so full of health benefits that we use it in all of our healthy cereals and muesli.
It has a high concentration of "good fat" and 50 - 60% of the omega 3 essential fatty acid ALA (alpha-linolenic acid). ALA can be synthesized by the body into EPA and DHA, which are the essential fats found in fish oil.
Omega 3 essential fatty acids have numerous health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease, lower cholesterol levels and help to prevent the build up of deposits in the arteries.
It also contains Omega 6 and 9 essential fatty acids, and the EFA's are very important for the conversion of hormones in the body.
These good fats are also for good skin tissue.
It provides a rich source of plant lignans which have been found to have anti cancer properties, as well as fibre. The soluble fibre in flaxseed can be an effective cholesterol lowering agent, and the insoluble fibre can help regulate bowel movements and prevent constipation without the use of laxatives.
Rice Bran comes from the outer coating of the rice kernel and contains a high amount of nutrients that are essential to your health. These include fibre, Vitamins A, B, C and E, essential fatty acids and the minerals magnesium and potassium.
Rice Bran contains antioxidants that help defend against free radicals in your body, caused by improper diet, pollution etc and play a part in premature aging and many degenerative diseases.
It can also be found in our other healthy cereals.
Millet is the best grain source of iron with 7mg per 100g. Iron is an essential mineral, and your body needs it everyday for the development of new blood cells and for the protection against colds, flu, and other infections. Eating refined bread and processed foods, as well as drinking tea and coffee regularly can lead to a deficiency of iron and other nutrients such as Vitamin E, which is also found in millet.
Vitamin E protects heart muscles, protects us from pollution and othe toxic substances, and repairs damaged skin tissue and internal organs.
The minerals potassium, magnesium, manganese and silica, and protein are also found in millet. These minerals, potassium and magnesium are important for your muscles and nerves, and silica promotes hair growth, works with calcium for the bones and nails, and is vital for insulation of delicate nerve fibres.
It is an alkaline forming grain and so is good for those with acidic conditions such as arthritis.
With the consumption of alcohol and refined foods, mineral supply is often depleted, and millet is a grain that is highly nutritious.
Walnuts supply a good amount of all the main minerals, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and protein. Walnuts are an excellent source of biotin, which is essential for the conversion of unsaturated fats into usable energy in the body. They contain all the essential amino acids, and also contain essential fatty acids.
Some say that walnuts are shaped like the human brain and therefore are good for brain function, and they are, due to their nutrient and essential fatty acid content.
Our sultanas are natural, and have been sun dried naturally without the use of oil or preservatives. They are hormone and chemical free.
They are sweet and juicy, and give our healthy cereal a little natural sugar, without any being added.
Pepitas are the inner kernel of pumpkin seeds and have many health benefits. They are one of nature's best protein foods. Especially high in pepitas are the amino acids isoleucine, methionine, lysine and leucine and compared to wholegrains, legumes and other animal proteins, pepitas provide the perfect protein.
They are high in iron, and also contain phosphorus, and together this promotes healthy blood development and efficient nerve and mental activity.
Pepitas also contain Vitamin A and B, zinc, essential fatty acids omega 3 and 6, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, potassium, folic acid, fibre, phytosterols and carotenoids.
Psyllium Husks are very high in fibre and promote healthy bowel function. They are one of the most beneficial healthy cereals available today.
Recent research has found that psyllium husk can also help to lower cholesterol. Results show a decrease in total cholesterol as well as in LDL's - low density lipoproteins, also known as "bad cholesterol"
Psyllium is also known to help stabalize blood sugar levels.
Rice Bran Flakes
Rice Bran Flakes are made from rice flour, rice bran and apple juice concentrate.
They are a great tasting source of fibre, and rice bran products have been shown to help to lower cholesterol levels, as well as lower triglyceride levels and increase "good" cholesterol.
This healthy cereal is also found in our Wheat and Gluten Free Muesli.
The paw paw we use in our healthy muesli is color free, that is, no color has been added in the drying process.
It provides a natural sweetness to Vital Start without the addition of sugar. Paw paw is also known to contain papain and helps with digestive problems
Our dried pineapple is also dried without the use of any coloring or dye, and is a lovely sweet addition to the healthy cereals.
Pineapple also contains bromelain, which has been used to reduce inflammation in the body.
