Tahini

What is Tahini?

It is a paste made from sesame seeds.

At Energy Fields, we use chemical free sesame seeds, which are stoneground without heat to ensure that the vitamins and minerals found in the seeds are not effected in any way. It is similar in consistency to smooth peanut butter.

This nutritious food can easily be digested, which enables the quick supply of nutrients to the body.

Our sesame paste contains complete protein,

and is one of the richest sources of methionine, an essential amino acid which has numerous functions in the body such as:

the control of blood fat levels and aiding fat metabolism,

and the development of haemoglobin in the blood.

Seasame seeds are a great source of the minerals

  • calcium - is a good vegetarian alternative to increase calcium levels in your diet, it is needed for smooth functioning of the heart muscles, is essential for healthy bones and teeth, and calcium foods help to fight fatigue, as well as playing a major role in providing firmness and elasticity for the skin, cells and tissues of the body
  • potassium - which helps kidney function, is essential for the repair and healthy condition of the body's muscles, improves blood circulation and assists acid/alkaline levels in the body
  • phosphorus - which is essentail for the repair and maintenance of the nervous system, is essentail for the health of the skin, hair, nails and brain, and improves the assists vital energy distribution throughout the entire body
  • magnesium - which is essential for the nervous system, helps with muscle relaxation, plays an important role with calcium and promotes protein metabolism

B vitamins are also found in Energy Fields tahini, especially Vitamin B3, niacin, and this helps with the circulation of the blood, as well as the protection against excess cholesterol. The B vitamins also play a role in the proper functioning of the nervous system.

This sesame paste is one of the best food sources of Vitamin E, with up to 40mg per 100mg, and vitamin E is essential for our bodies.

It plays a part in proper nerve and muscle functioning, is important for the heart, is a powerful anti-oxidant thereby preventing cell damage in the body, not to mention all the beauty benefits such as skin healing, scar prevention and maintaining that youthful glow.

A small amount added to a meal can easily improve the protein value of any meal which is especially important for vegetarians.
